Nail Bloggers Tag from Claire at Make Room For Cupcake

Here's a fun nail bloggers tag from Claire at Make Room For Cupcake! If you're reading this and want to do the tag, please leave your link in the comments below so I can come see all of your answers!

For how long have you been a nail nerd?
Maybe since junior high? It's only really gotten bad this past year, though. Suddenly I feel addicted to my nail polishes! I blame blogging and Pinterest for opening up the world of swatches and nail art to me!

How many polishes do you have in your collection?
Almost 100, I think. Does that sound too small or too big? Ha! My collection is constantly expanding!

If you, starting now, had to use polishes from one brand only, which one would it be?
Probably Zoya. I love lots of brands, but they have tons of amazing vegan colors, which is hugely important to me--and they're not that pricey.

How much do you spend on polish and nail care in one given month?

If I get my monthly Julep box, that's about $20. I might spend another $10-$20 on polishes from the drugstore or ULTA, or from an online site like Zoya.com if they're running a special.
The most expensive polish in your collection is..?
That's hard to say, because I'm always picking things up with coupon codes and the like. I do have a few Butter London polishes which cost about $14 apiece, but I got them MASSIVELY on sale for about $5 apiece! My Julep polishes retail for $14, but when I do the math on the ones I've bought, I've never paid more than $5-$10 per each. Same with my Zoyas--they cost $8 but I always get them on sale. I actually pride myself on being a savvy bargain hunter!
What are your lemmings right now?
Do I have to only pick a few?! I love a) anything pink and a) anything super-dark that borders on black. Here are a few specific shades though:

  • Wet n Wild Fergie Mermaid Curves that's an almost full coverage teal glitter
  • Julep Sienna, which is perfectly balanced champagne metallic
  • Julep Trina, a blackberry creme
  • Julep Sasha, a perfect coral creme
Favorite finish?
Creme.
Finish you just can't stand?
I'm torn here between matte and sheer. Sheers are always disappointing to me because I can't stand seeing my tips, but I hate how mattes chip so easily.
What nail care products can't you do without?

Nail-aid Ultra Fast Growth base coat, Bath and Body Works hand creams, and Zoya Remove Plus polish remover. These help keep my nails healthy and strong.
What polish is on your nails right now?

Right now I've got a gradient glitter manicure with Zoya Feifei for the base and Wet n Wild Fergie Mermaid Curves on the tips. But it's pretty chipped after a night at work, so I'll have to pick out something new later today!

  1. Man, I am so with you on the finishes you don't like. One of my favorite polishes is a matte finish, and it's gorgeous, but always has chips and chunks out by the end of the first day. Sheesh!!!

    1. I know, it's such a bummer! :( I even bought a matte top coat and lacquered it on, and it hardly helped!
