December 2012 empties!

It feels so weird to type in "2012". Happy New Year to all of my lovely readers! I'm so thrilled you're all reading along with my little blog for another year.

If you're new here, I'd love it if you subscribed to me using one of the links in the sidebar! You can follow me through GFC, Hello Cotton, and Bloglovin', and you can also find me on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube!

Finally, don't forget to enter my portion of the Merry and Bright blog hop/giveaway--it ends tomorrow! You can find that link in the sidebar as well!

Okay, on to today's post. I don't have a ton of empties from December, but I thought I'd show you the few items I do have, since there are some really good ones this month. As usual, I'm way behind on reviewing products, but I hope to get more up soon as things get back to normal post-holiday season.

First, there's a bottle of Bath and Body Works Signature Collection body wash in Pink Grapefruit. My BBW obsession is well-documented and you guys already know that I love these body washes, but I'm a little iffy on this scent. It's lovely, but it just doesn't last (a common problem with the lighter scents). It would be perfect for summer or for those of you who don't like heavy fragrances.

Next, there's a jar of Avalon Organics Vitamin C Renewal Cream. This was an impulse purchase over the summer that initially looked disappointing; it's a lovely organic and natural formula and that jar holds quite a bit of product, but it seemed too heavy for my skin. Fast-forward to the winter months, and it is now on my MVP list. It's perfect for keeping my dry yet sensitive and breakout prone skin hydrated, and at $20 for about two ounces, it's really a bargain too. I will absolutely try to get a review of this up soon, as I'm already on a new jar.

Also in the skin department, we have a bottle of Alba Botanica Acne Dote face wash. As I said, I'm prone to breakouts, so I need a good acne wash that won't dry me out. This seems to do the trick, and it's natural, vegetarian, and fairly affordable as well. My only complaint is that it has a rather runny consistency, so you can pour it all over if you aren't careful. I have already re-purchased this and plan to keep using it.

Next up is a bottle of Organix Macadamia Oil conditioner, which is also now on my MVP list. This stuff leaves my hair super soft and silky, smells fantastic, and is fairly affordable. I wish it were more natural, but if you're stuck shopping at a big chain store and don't have lots of options, this is the best one you could pick.

Lastly, there's a tube of Kiss My Face Triple Action toothpaste. I include this because getting into the world of natural, cruelty-free and vegetarian toothpaste can be intimidating. This has aloe in it, and if you've never used an aloe formula, you're in for a shock; the taste is really strange, and I don't like the gel consistency of the product. That said, if you can get used to the weird flavor and texture, it really isn't bad. I don't feel like this particular product worked as well for me as some other varieties, but it was nice to try a vegan formula with aloe to see how it worked.

Do you guys have any empties posts for me? Leave me your links in the comments section so I can come check them out!

  1. I'd love to try the conditioner - it is on my wishlist actually. However, I need to use up all of my other haircare products first ;) X
